Virtual Reality from the Guardian

Our first VR piece, 6x9 takes you to a virtual cell, telling a story of the psychological damage of extreme isolation. Right now, more than 80,000 people are in solitary confinement in the US. They spend 22-24 hours a day in their cells, with little to no human contact for days or even decades. We invite you into this world. You can watch the film with or without Cardboard. For more questions about the app visit our FAQ page: http://www.theguardian.com/solitary-vrHave feedback? Need help? Redundant,....Does it come to anyones suprise really that the reality of solitary confinement is just that?. Sad but true!. To get there you had to have earned it!. It doesn't come by being a good overall law abiding citizen. It is meant to be what it is....Do what you must do to never end up in that hell. Solid!.......

Politics aside, this is a solid if early attempt at taking VR beyond mere entertainment. Moreover, in and by itself the piece is quite apolitical, although it may be hard not to come to some conclusions. Also, this probably should be shown to first-time offenders, just to suggest what may happen if they choose a life of crime.

It was pretty good, not nearly as traumatic as I thought it would be though.

A real eye opener... I loved it

it's kinda of disapointing but im still giving it 5 stars because it's a good start. i'd like to see a more in depth version that actually talks about how its really bad for the rehabilitaion of criminals. i've seen some comments saying that oh its just criminals being locked up these are the same people that saying water boarding is good.....until they try it. i also hate the comments saying this is a master peice.....as far as VR it's among the best mobile apps so far....but its not something you couldnt get out of a youtube video
